Bosch Solar Energy installs 1.9MW photovoltaic system in Maui County, Hawaii

Bosch Solar Energy has completed the installation of 1.9MW of photovoltaic power systems in the Maui County of Hawaii, US.

The solar photovoltaic project, the largest in Maui, will provide 11 sites in the county, including four fire stations, two senior centers, the Lahaina police station, the Eddie Tam Community Center and the Kihei Aquatic Center.

Bosch Solar Energy, together with its partners, developed, constructed and financed the multiple-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) project resulting in the construction of the PV system at zero upfront cost.

Mayor Alan Arakawa remarked that this investment will save over $10m for the Maui County in the next two decades.

“The project provided more than 200 local jobs for four months and reflects the County’s commitment to installing renewable energy systems,” Arakawa said.

Bosch Solar Energy North America regional president Eric Daniels commented, “The goal of the county to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and switch to solar energy is commendable. We are pleased our breadth of capabilities can contribute to the solution.”
