Vestas secures contract to supply 35 wind turbines to Botievo project in Ukraine

Danish wind turbines manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has secured a contract with DTEK Group to supply 35 V112-3.0 MW wind turbines for the latter’s Botievo wind project.

The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of wind turbines, along with a VestasOnline Business SCADA system and an AOM 4000 service agreement.

DTEK Group is currently working on the second stage of the 195MW project located in the coastal area of the Zaporozhye, Botievo in Ukraine.

Earlier in 2012, Vestas procured a contract to install and commission 30 V112-3.0 MW turbines in the first stage of the Botievo project.

DTEK Group subsidiary Wind Power director Guerman Ainbinder stated that the construction of such a wind project requires capablesuppliers of wind power equipment.

“We are glad to continue our cooperation with Vestas, a global leader in wind turbine manufacturing.

“During the first stage of the Botievo wind farm construction, Vestas has proven itself a reliable partner, and we are confident that our cooperation during the second stage of the project, the most advanced wind power plant in Ukraine, will be successful,” explained Ainbinder.

Meanwhile, Vestas expects to deliver the equipment by the end of 2013 and plans to commission in the summer of 2014.
