PV plants under construction in Chile grow 184% from last year

London – UK The photovoltaic industry in Chile has seen a considerable change from 2013 to 2014 with a growth of 184% in plants under construction. PV Insider published a free roadmap that includes maps of plants in operation and construction as well as profiles of each developer with activities in the country.

Last October 2013 Chile approved the Law to Encourage the Generation of Non-Conventional Renewable Energies (NCRE). It has the aim to ensure that 20% of the country´s electrical generation comes from NCRE by 2025. The law that is starting to be known as law 20/25 comes as a perfect incentive to strength the development of PV in the country.

The 20/25 comes in tune with a spectacular growth in the number of plants under construction and in operation. According to the report “PV industry roadmap in Chile 2014”, PV plants in operation has growth 102%, while the plants in construction 184%.
The free report that PV Insider has published also offers profiles of every developer with activities in Chile. Each profile covers the amount of MW in operation, construction and with permits among other details.

Finally, PV Insider´s roadmap counts on a map with all the PV plants that are currently in operation and construction including the off-taker and finance bodies that made the projects a reality.
