Hitachi to deploy wind turbines at Aoyama-Kogen farm in Japan

Japanese firm Hitachi has agreed to provide 40 wind turbines for an 80MW farm being developed by C-Tech, a subsidiary of Japanese electric utility Chubu Electric Power.

The electronics major will supply its 2MW turbines to the Aoyama-Kogen wind farm in the Aoyama Kogen region of Mie Prefecture located in western Japan.

The company expects to begin operation of 18 windmills by March 2016 and achieve complete operations a year later, reported Bloomberg.

On completion the wind farm is projected to have an installed capacity of 95MW. C-Tech spokesman Masaya Hayashi was quoted by Bloomberg as saying that C-Tech, a clean energy and telecommunications unit of Chubu Electric, owns a majority stake of 95.8% in Aoyama-Kogen.

The financial terms of the transaction thats remained undisclosed by either party.
