Univers and AMCHARGE have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly support industrial and commercial customers in Malaysia and Thailand as they work to lower energy costs, expand renewable energy use, and accelerate their Net Zero progress. The agreement brings together Univers, recognised globally for its AI and IoT platform capabilities, with Amcharge, a Malaysia-based renewable energy provider partnering AAPICO Hitech Public Company Limited from Thailand and a technology provider from China.
The collaboration centres on the deployment of Univers’ AIoT platform EnOS™, including the EnOS™ Renewables and EnOS™ Microgrid applications. With these tools, factories and large operational sites will be positioned to manage rising energy expenses more effectively, improve system reliability and accelerate the adoption of cleaner energy sources. Amcharge’s established delivery presence within Malaysia’s manufacturing ecosystem is expected to support on-the-ground execution, helping industries in both countries upgrade energy systems and reinforce long-term competitiveness.
In the first stage of the initiative, Univers and Amcharge intend to identify up to four pilot manufacturing facilities in 2025. These sites will demonstrate the results of AI-enabled optimisation, with particular attention to maximum demand (MD) management, energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy integration. Once completed, the pilots will act as reference models for larger-scale deployment across industrial estates and commercial portfolios.
Executives from both sides emphasized the rising urgency of AI-driven energy management. Commenting on the partnership, Michael Ding, Global Executive Director, Univers, said: “Malaysia and Thailand are rapidly growing industrial centres, and AI will be essential to help businesses manage rising energy costs and achieve Net Zero ambitions,” He further said, “Partnering with Amcharge strengthens our ability to deliver AI for Energy solutions with strong local execution and faster customer impact.”
Lee Yeet Chuan, Chief Executive Officer of Amcharge, added: “Customers are looking for practical ways to reduce energy costs and meet sustainability goals. By combining Univers’ AIoT technology with our on-ground delivery capabilities, we can bring scalable, high-impact solutions to industries across Malaysia and Thailand.”
Both companies plan to tap into Univers’ Global Impact AI Lab to accelerate new AI innovations for industrial use, with solutions developed in Singapore designed for deployment across Malaysia, Thailand and other markets.
