UK-based renewable energy projects developer Kedco has expanded the wind energy capacity and number of projects under co-development agreement to 52.5MW.

The expansion secured through its subsidiary Reforce Energy includes increase in power generation capacity of three wind farms in the North West of Ireland to 40MW. The capacity of these projects currently totals 30MW.

Further, Kedco has added another wind project in the same region of Ireland under co-development agreement that has a capacity of 12.5MW.

Kedco CEO Gerry Madden: “With this increase in capacity and addition of a new site the Company has successfully reached its minimum target for 2013 of doubling its development portfolio to 140MW, and the Board is pleased to have achieved this well in advance of the year end.”

Meanwhile, the company is currently working on planning applications for the expansion of three projects along with addition of fourth project and is intending to submit them to the authorities in third quarter of 2013.
