TFP Hydrogen Products specialises in the development and manufacture of Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) coatings and catalysts based on Platinum Group Metals (PGMs). The company has recently invested in catalyst manufacturing capability and is ready to support the growth of a competitive hydrogen industry with the launch of our latest high performance, high efficiency and cost effective catalysts.

The recent iridium price increases have meant that the cost of the anode catalyst for Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) water electrolysis has increased significantly as a proportion of the technology cost. As a leading supplier and developer of catalysts, TFP Hydrogen
Products is responding to the price rise with the launch of two high performance, high efficiency catalysts based on a combination of both iridium (Ir) and ruthenium (Ru) to remain cost effective.

Our Ir/Ru range includes IrRuO 2 catalysts for Proton Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) water electrolysers, a method of generating green hydrogen. These anode catalysts have been formulated for use in the manufacture of Catalyst Coated Membranes (CCMs) and are highly
dispersible into inks. TFP Hydrogen Products’ IrRuO 2 catalysts offer a number of benefits to a customer’s system, not just competitiveness on price; they enable the system to operate at a low voltage, improve long term durability and ensure high performance. In short, these catalysts reduce the cost of generating green hydrogen by increasing long term efficiency, and this facilitation of low carbon technologies is fundamental to our company philosophy.

In addition to the durability, performance and cost benefits, TFP Hydrogen Products’ also offer the capability to design and specify the optimum MMO catalyst and coating formulation for your application. We have a highly experienced team of specialists in chemistry,
electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering and materials science and welcome the opportunity of customer collaboration to design a system specific composition which achieves the best possible long term performance and efficiency. Our specialist manufacturing method is also rapidly scalable, enabling the capacity for larger scale production when necessary.

About TFP Hydrogen Products Ltd:
TFP Hydrogen Products was founded in 2011 as PV3 Technologies and joined the Technical Fibre Products Group in 2021. The company is built on decades of knowledge and expertise in both electrochemical and nano materials, and has a strong focus on
sustainability, specialising in the development of materials for the hydrogen economy. We have an experienced team of electrochemists, developing and manufacturing a range of solutions for applications such as water electrolysers, fuel cells, batteries and medical
devices. Our team has many years of experience in electrochemical technology development, enabling an understanding of our customers’ specific application requirements and creating a product to meet these. Our goal is to provide cost effective products with high performance and high durability.
