Enel commences operations at three wind farms in Romania

Italian renewable energy company Enel Green Power has connected three wind farms in the Dobrogea region of Romania to the national grid thereby commencing commercial operations.

Comprising a total installed capacity of 206 MW, Elcomex EOL (Zephir I), Targusor (Zephir II) and Gebelesis wind farms, are expected to generate 560 million kWh a year at full production.

The Elcomex EOL wind farm features 52 turbines while the Targusor farm comprises 26 of them.

The Gebelesis wind farm employs five 3MW wind turbines and six 2MW wind turbines for a total installed capacity of 27 MW.

Enel invested a total of €340m for the construction of these wind farms that will expand its renewable power generation portfolio in Romania.

The Italian company currently has a fully operational installed wind capacity of 500MW in Romania.
