Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) and National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) have signed a joint venture agreement to develop nuclear power plants across India.

NPCIL currently operates 20 nuclear reactors with a total installed capacity of 4,780MW and six reactors with 4,800MW capacity are under construction.NALCO is a central public sector undertaking under the administrative control of Ministry of Mines, Government of India.

NPCIL is an enterprise of the Government of India under the Department of Atomic Energy for setting up nuclear power plants in the country.
