Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES Americas) announced that the 139.4MW Twin Ridges Wind Farm in Pennsylvania, the US, has commenced operations, following the completion of construction work in December 2012.

The wind farm is owned and was developed by EverPower, while RES Americas served as the project’s balance-of-plant contractor.

The Twin Ridges Wind Farm comprises 68 REpower MM 92 turbines, each with a capcity of 2.05MW. These turbines will interconnect to PJM through the Potomac Edison affiliate of FirstEnergy.

RES Americas chief operating officer Andrew Fowler said that the continued development of renewable energy resources in Pennsylvania will benefit the state with additional capital investment, jobs and tax revenue.

“We are proud to be a member of this community and look forward to continuing our operations in the area,” Fowler added.

To date, RES Americas has constructed 381MW of wind projects in Pennsylvania, including the 101MW Armenia Mountain Wind project, which was completed in 2009, and the 140.8MW Mehoopany Wind Farm that was completed in 2012.
