Sino-Australian solar energy company Clenergy has collaborated with CGN Solar Energy to invest CNY3.9bn ($624.4m) to launch a slew of solar projects in China.

As per the partnership in alliance with Lijiang city government in China, the companies will develop power plants of total energy of 300MW by the end of 2015.

Further, they have agreed to aid the government’s solar energy program between 2013 and 2020.

Commenting on the developments, Ljiang city mayor He Lianghui stated: “To build Lijiang into an important clean energy base is one of Lijiang’s development objectives.”

Under this collaboration, Clenergy has outlined plans to launch a 300MW solar PV project in the city, which is the company’s first project in southwest China.

Meanwhile, the prime objectives of its program include introduction of advanced solar technologies to Lijiang and promoting solar applications in residential and BIPV Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) market sectors.
