PV module manufacturer Hanwha SolarOne has unveiled its residential Zep Compatible solar module in the US in partnership with Zep Solar.

Based on the patented Zep Groove technology, the module integrates Hanwha’s light-weight, durable, and high efficiency HSL Series with Zep Solar’s integrated grounding and mounting systems.

Backed by a 25-year linear power warranty and 12-year workmanship warranty, the new module will increase safety and reduce installation costs, speeding installation by four-to-five times over traditional racking solutions, the company claims.

Endowed with quality assurance from International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification, HSL Series modules will be available in early 2014.

Manufacturers like Hanwha get licenses from Zep Solar to incorporate Zep Groove technology into their PV module frame designs and produce Zep Compatible modules.

Hanwha SolarOne North American president Steve Kang said that the company always focuses on developing innovative concepts to reduce balance of system costs and the agreement with Zep Solar will shorten installation time and deliver more value to our customers.
