Eko Energija, a venture of European clean energy investor EnerCap Capital Partners, has awarded German developer Vestas a turbine supply contract for its 42MW Obrovac Zelengrad wind power plant in Croatia.

Under the terms of the contract, Vestas will supply 14 V90-3.0 MW turbines for the first phase of the 54MW wind farm. Second phase has a capacity of 12MW.

The company will also install and commission the turbines, besides providing a VestasOnline Business SCADA system and AOM 4000 service package for a seven-year period.

EnerCap Capital Partners partner Alastair Hammond remarked that through this agreement company is hoping to reciprocate its previous collaborations with Vestas in Scieki, Poland earlier in 2012.

“We’re delighted to commence the construction of the Obrovac wind power plant which marks our first investment in Croatia,” added Hammond.

Vestas is set to deliver the first turbine under the contract during the first quarter of 2014. EnerCap anticipates annual production of 110,000MWh enough to fulfill needs of 31,000 Croatian households after its commissioning, due in second quarter of 2014.
