US-based company QBotix has won a contract from Scottish developer Castillium to supply the Robotic Tracking System (RTS) for solar power plants in the UK, as part of further international expansion.
Under the contract, QBotix will supply RTS for use in Castillium’s pipeline of over 200MW of ground-mounted solar PV projects with work on the first projects set to start in mid-2014.
The projects equipped with RTS can save costs of up to 20% over traditional mounting systems through combination of up to 45% more energy generation and similar installation costs results.
QBotix claims that the flexible project design capabilities and optimized daily and annual power curve of the RTS enable the increase in the quantity and quality of power production.
Castillium director Derek Mitchell said, “Castillium is delighted to be working with QBotix.
