Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP’s (Chevron Phillips Chemical) Borger Plant in Borger, Texas is proud to announce it has been recertified as a Star Designation through the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), a program launched by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 1982 to promote effective worksite-based safety and health and to recognize sites for exemplary occupational safety and health performance.

“The Borger Plant is proud of its accomplishments, and we remain focused on continuous improvement of protecting the health and safety of our employees, contractors, partners and our community,” said Stephen Goff, plant manager at Borger. “At Chevron Phillips Chemical, safety is ingrained in the company culture. We are determined to not only maintain our top-quartile industry status but lead our peers in safety.”

Since 2002, Chevron Phillips Chemical has achieved a 70% reduction in its combined employee and contractor recordable illness and injury rate.  Of the company’s 20 eligible U.S. sites, 18 have achieved the prestigious Star Designation through VPP. This is the fourth Star recertification the Borger facility has received since its initial certification in 1999.
