BayWa r.e., a global renewable energy developer, service provider and wholesaler, signed a unique global framework agreement with LONGi for the distribution of PV modules of the world’s largest manufacturer of mono silicon PV modules.

The partnership enables BayWa r.e. to expand its product portfolio with all modules from the LONGi product range and to distribute them worldwide.  BayWa r.e. is one of only few distributors to achieve this status as a close partner company of LONGi.

“We are excited to significantly enlarge our quality portfolio by adding the products of LONGi Solar Technology“, comments Frank Jessel, Director of the Business Entity Solar Trade at BayWa r.e. “The partnership is a win-win-situation. On the one hand, we profit from LONGi’s huge experience and reputation in the field of PV technology. On the other, we can provide our know-how and connections to the global market for renewable energy.“

LONGi, headquartered in Xi’an, China, has total assets of more than $5.23 billion (2017) and is the largest supplier of mono-crystalline silicon wafers in the world. The company’s growth rate exceeded 100% in three consecutive years. It has branches in Japan, Europe, North America, India, Malaysia, Australia and Africa. Modules from LONGi are in use in many projects all over the world.

“Thanks to the broad network of BayWa r.e. we will certainly increase our market share in the global PV market and improve our products even further”, adds Gerald Patrick Müller, Vice President Sales Europe at LONGi Solar Technology. “Our reliable modules ensure not only superior quality, but also help to strengthen green energy transitions worldwide. We are looking forward to a mutually beneficial cooperation.“
