Electronics company Foxconn Technology Group has outlined plans to set up a portfolio of solar projects across America, Europe and China.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that the company has planned to commence construction for 20 PV power plants in Guangxi province of China, reported Pv-tech.org.

In addition, Taiwan-based Foxconn will also build a solar research and development facility alongside five PV component factories in the same province.

The company, meanwhile, stated that the solar projects in China, which are planned to be developed through a joint venture between Foxconn and the Guangxi government, would create jobs in the province.

The government is said to support the company in terms of planning and providing necessary approvals and certifications.

The company, however, has not disclosed the investment amount and timeframe details. Also, it plans to launch a solar plant in Mexico with a production capacity of 400MW, with a similar plant expected to be launched in Europe.
