The Trinasolar Solaris Energy partnership brings together a global leader in photovoltaic and energy storage systems with one of Sri Lankaโ€™s biggest solar distributors, to help the nation switch to sustainable energy. At SNEC 2025 in Shanghai, the world’s biggest solar industry show, the two firms signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The Trinasolar Solaris Energy partnership outlines the delivery and installation of 25 MWp of solar panels across Sri Lanka.

This partnership shows that Trinasolar is becoming more important in the South Asian market and is dedicated to helping Sri Lanka reach its clean energy goals. As part of the deal, Solaris Energy will choose Trinasolar as one of its subcontractors for large-scale solar projects in the nation, although this is only when formal contracts and agreements are made.

A key part of the Trinasolar Solaris Energy partnership is the deployment of Trinasolar’s Vertex N series solar modules. These modules are made using cutting-edge n-type i-TOPCon cell technology, which makes them more energy-efficient, better able to handle temperature changes, and lowers the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). The modules also have a lot of bifaciality and are more durable, which makes them perfect for Sri Lanka’s tropical environment and electricity infrastructure.

Elva Wang, Group Director for South, Southeast and Central Asia at Trinasolar Asia Pacific, stated, โ€œThis partnership with Solaris Energy marks an important milestone in our long-term commitment to Sri Lankaโ€™s renewable energy journey. By combining our industry-leading Vertex N modules with Solarisโ€™s strong local presence, we are enabling the delivery of reliable, high-efficiency solar infrastructure that supports the countryโ€™s clean energy goals. We look forward to accelerating sustainable growth and empowering Sri Lanka with world-class PV technology.โ€

Thiriyambagan, CEO, Solaris Energy, Solaris Energy (Pvt) Ltd, stated, โ€œWe are excited to collaborate with Trinasolar, a global technology leader, to bring advanced solar solutions to utility-scale projects across Sri Lanka. This MOU represents a powerful step forward in delivering future-ready infrastructure that strengthens Sri Lankaโ€™s energy resilience. By integrating proven global innovation with deep local expertise, we aim to empower Sri Lankaโ€™s transition to a low-carbon future.โ€

This deal gives Trinasolar an even bigger presence in the Asia Pacific area as the business keeps bringing cutting-edge solar technology to new markets. Trinasolar wants to help Sri Lanka reach its renewable energy targets by working with trustworthy local partners like Solaris. Todd Li, President of Trinasolar Asia Pacific, and T. Thiriyambagan, CEO of Solaris Energy, were both at the signing of the MOU. This marked the start of a relationship that would concentrate on innovation, sustainability, and clean energy development in the area.
