GES Deutschland has taken over the service division of German wind turbine manufacturer PowerWind, following PowerWind’s restructuring of its service organization.

The takeover by GES Deutschland, a subsidiary of Global Energy Services which provides wind farm development services, is effective as of 1 November 2012.

GES subsequent to the transaction aims to reinforce its footprint in the renewal energy services market, particularly in Germany.

PowerWind managing director Dieter Dehlke said that GES Deutschland has submitted the the most convincing overall concept of all entities interested in this particular service organization.

“PowerWind and GES employees are compatible, that is the reason why I see plenty of opportunities in the development of our position in the market thanks to the mutual cooperation,” Dehlke added.

GES chairman Peter Grosch aims to maintain the service business of PowerWind and merge it with the service business of GES.

“In the last few weeks we looked into the services and installation division of PowerWind and we are quite sure about the potential,” Grosch said.
