Vestas Wind Systems A/S, a Danish manufacturer of wind turbines, has received an order from ERG Renew S.p.A to supply 17 units of the V100-2.0 MW turbine for the 34MW Palazzo San Gervasio wind farm in Basilicata, Italy.

The contract comprises installation and commissioning of the turbines together with a VestasOnline Business SCADA system. The wind power plant will produce about 97GWh per year, which corresponds to an annual saving of almost 39,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

Furthermore, the power plant will provide enough electricity to cover the residential electricity consumption of more than 85,000 people in Italy. Delivery of the turbines for the wind power plant is expected to start during the second half of 2013 and the project is expected to be commissioned by the end of the 2013.

Vestas is engaged in the manufacture and sale of wind turbines and wind power systems worldwide. It also offers wind project planning, procurement, construction, operation, and power plant optimization services; and after sale services, as well as, sells spare parts.
