Asset Guardian Solutions (AGSL) has secured a contract to supply software toolset for EDF Energy’s Torness nuclear power station in East Lothian, Scotland.

By using Asset Guardian’s software toolset, EDF will control the power plant’s hardware assets and improve management of critical software assets.

Torness group head of protection and electrical John Duguid said Asset Guardian is capable of meeting the company’s requirements.

“We’re looking forward to working with the Asset Guardian team, and receiving its support in helping us to maintain our consistently high standards when it comes to managing the integrity of our assets,” Duguid added.

Asset Guardian chief executive Sam Mackay said the company will help EDF Energy to meet the needs of its project.

“The growing demands of regulators mean that industrial operators must be increasingly diligent when it comes to ensuring the safety, reliability and quality of their assets,” Mackay added.

AGSL has recently secured a contract from Woodside Energy to provide a programmable systems management tool for enhanced management of the company’s critical software assets.

The company also provides software toolset to energy firms such as BP, Marathon OilUK, and EON.
