Chinese PV equipment producer JinkoSolar has signed three agreements with Spanish conglomerate Acciona to deliver its solar modules with a total capacity of 274MWp.

The first agreement was signed with Oakleaf Investment Holdings 86, a joint-venture invested by Acciona and its South African local partner, includes the supply of 94MWp of solar modules to a project in Northern Cape Province, South Africa.

The project will be equipped with 319,600 JinkoSolar PV modules, which will be delivered beginning from November 2013 through September 2014. The South African project will generate about 206GWh of clean electricity annually and curb around 198,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions.

The second agreement will see supply of 24.07MWp of solar modules to Acciona Energy Oceania beginning from October 2013 through December 2013 to the Royalla PV solar plant in the ACT territory of Australia.

To be equipped with approximately 81,600 modules, the Royalla project will generate enough electricity to power 4,500 Canberra houses.

JinkoSolar will also supply 156MWp modules to Acciona as part of another agreement, which is subject to further discussion and is expected to enter into final definitive supply agreements with the parties in the future.

JinkoSolar chairman Xiande Li said that these latest contracts will help South Africa and Australia in diversifying their clean energy mix.
