Utilities, IPPs, OEMs, ISPs and technology providers from across Southeast Asia will gather at Power Plant Maintenance Asia on January 19-21, 2016 in Kuala Lumpur to discuss best practices in optimizing power generation through cost-effective maintenance.

Asia-Pacific accounts for almost one third of the world’s current energy consumption, with this demand expected to nearly double by 2030, according to the Asian Development Bank. Several rapidly developing economies in Southeast Asia have seen consumption outpacing production, putting increased pressure on power companies and utilities to sustain maximum output and generation reliability across their power stations.

Stuart McWilliams, Executive Vice President of Asset Management at Senoko Energy, Abdul RazakSalleh, General Manager of Generation at Sabah Electricity, Khairil Azman Ismail, Chief Operating Officer of Energy Management Services (N.U.R. Power) and Khamis H AlSaidi, Senior Manager Planning and Asset Management at MAJAN Electricity Company will be among the leading asset management stakeholders delivering presentations and discussing how to balance performance, risk and cost in developing efficient maintenance strategies.

The forum will showcase technical case studies from AmriZein, Maintenance Superintendent at Star Energy and Ismail B Musa, Staff Engineer at Petronas, alongside best practices in harnessing data management for enhanced condition monitoring and predictability from Dr. SomgiatDekrajangpetch, SVP Asset Optimization at the Glow Company and SanilNamboodiripad, Head – Asset Management at Sterlite Power Grid Ventures.

There will also be a special technical workshop on the ISO 55000 asset management standards, its fundamental principles and how compliance translates into tangible benefits for power companies.

“It’s a critical time for utilities and power stations to examine their asset management strategies,” said Joshua Lim, Divisional Director of IQPC’s Energy Portfolio. “Utilities in Southeast Asia are increasingly focusing on preventive and diagnostic maintenance, incorporating asset service life extension strategies and techniques such as reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and risk-based inspection (RBI) for a holistic approach to asset management excellence.

At the end of the day it’s about optimizing plant performance while reducing costs, which is the central concern bringing together maintenance and asset management professionals to Power Plant Maintenance Asia 2016.”

Power Plant Maintenance Asia 2016 will gather international asset management and maintenance stakeholders and their teams over 3 days of workshops, interactive round tables and technical presentations.
