Swansea, Wales – Mike Unsworth is to join Tidal Lagoon Power in August as Delivery Director for the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon.  He will support Andrew McNaughton in bringing the world’s first tidal lagoon power plant into service by leading the construction and commissioning activities of the project’s contractors.

Mike has over 30 years of experience in the thermal and renewable power industries, working as both client and supplier.  He joins from Eneco Wind UK Ltd, where he is a respected Project Director within the offshore wind industry.  He currently leads the £3bn 970 MW Navitus Bay project and sits as Vice Chair of Renewable UK’s Offshore Wind Delivery Group.

Through his career, Mike has led multi-disciplined development and construction teams both in an EPC and multi contract environment, successfully delivering several major infrastructure projects including the €2bn 576MW Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm Andrew McNaughton, Director of Engineering & Construction at Tidal Lagoon Power: “In joining us, Mike strengthens our Project Management capability as we continue to prepare the Swansea Bay tidal lagoon for the start of work on site.  His track record speaks for itself and I look forward to working closely with him.”
