EDF to deploy Ventyx’s asset management applications at power plants in France

France-based electricity producer Electricite de France (EDF) has entered into an enterprise license agreement to use ABB’s Ventyx’s enterprise asset management (EAM) solution at all of its major power generating plants in France.

Initially, EDF will deploy the Ventyx’s EAM applications at four of its nuclear, hydro, and fossil fuel sites in the country.

Later, the company will use the asset management applications at all of its power generating stations in France.

In total, EDF will use the EAM applications at its 59 nuclear reactors, 435 hydropower plants and 15 fossil-fired power sites.

EDF Group SDIN Nuclear technique directeur Jean-Marc Herodin said the company has 28 million customers and managing its assets is very important for its business.

“Expanding our Ventyx EAM solution will underpin our commitment to ensuring not only worker and public safety, but also the reliable and efficient generation of clean, sustainable energy,” Herodin added.

“With Ventyx, we have a true partner and trusted advisor helping us to achieve these core business objectives.”
