Equans and global renewable energy company Low Carbon are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on accelerating the development of large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in the UK, Europe and North America.

Low Carbon will benefit from Equans Solar & Storage’s expertise in the field of Solar PV and BESS development that will help to accelerate their project development, strengthen quality and competitiveness of assets from design to operation and ensure the highest ESG standards during the entire lifecycle of the projects.

Equans, through its subsidiary Bouygues Energies & Services, the top international EPC player, will mobilise their expertise under its new brand Equans Solar & Storage to provide a bespoke offering to Low Carbon for the development, construction and operation of large-scale Solar PV as well as BESS projects in selected countries.

Justin Thesiger, Managing Director, Global Supply Chain, Low Carbon said: “We are pleased to have signed this MoU with our long-term EPC supplier and partner Equans Solar & Storage. Our ambition to deliver 20 GW of new renewable energy capacity globally by 2030 is underpinned by this type of agreement where trust and long-term partnership ensures efficiency, competitiveness and quality. Sharing the same values with partners provide a clear framework for meeting our ESG commitments and building renewable energy infrastructure at scale.”

“The signature of this Memorandum of Understanding is a milestone for us and we are extremely proud to be the partner of choice for Low Carbon in its mission to power the world with renewable energy. This partnership demonstrates how relevant our Equans Solar & Storage model is. Our goal is to support our clients in various countries with a standardized and efficient approach, while understanding the local specifics. With Low Carbon, it all started in the UK with a tailor-made innovative approach which we are excited to duplicate in Europe and North America”, said Elisabeth Benedetto, Executive Vice President Energies Business Unit and Equans Solar & Storage brand director.
