Clean energy company Hedcor has signed a memorandum of agreement with Negros Oriental provincial government in Philippines for its 22MW hydropower plant in the province.

The agreement signed by provincial governor Roel Degamo and Manjuyod municipal mayor Amor Baldado included prospects of the proposed Mabinay-Manjuyod project.

Aboitiz Power’s subsidiary Hedcor has scheduled the commencement of construction by January 2016, and expects it to conclude the construction by January 2018.

Meanwhile, the company claimed that the project would provide benefits to the company that includes farm-to-market roads, education and employment opportunities, health services and generation share.

Hedcor vice president Boy Jabonillo noted that in last 35 years of its business, the company has strived for growth of its host communities through sustainable social development programs.

Manjuyod municipal mayor Amor Baldado added: “I am giving my full support to the building of this hydropower plant of Hedcor in our community because this will bring numerous benefits to the people.”
