A manufacturer of solar power products JA Solar has won a contract from CPI Huanghe Hydropower Development, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Power Investment, for the supply of solar modules totaling 96MW to China.

JA Solar has already started delivery of the modules and will complete by the end of September 2013.

The solar modules will be used on two projects, which have a capacity of 320MW and 200MW, respectively in Gonghe County in Qinghai’s Hainan Autonomous Prefecture.

The 320MW project is a hybrid hydro-solar power station, which is being designed to work along with the existing Longyangxia hydro power station.

JA Solar executive chairman and CEO Baofang Jin said the company plans to capitalize increased installation activity in China and the latest projects are the result of its partnership with CPI.

“Due to the harsh environment, quality was a key criterion for the projects, and the fact that JA Solar was selected from a wide pool of potential suppliers demonstrates the superior reliability and durability of our modules.
