Trelleborg’s offshore operation, along with its partner SDH Integrated Services, hosted its first local content event in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
The purpose of this was to highlight how Trelleborg is complying with the provisions of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010 by training and hiring local talent in Nigeria to manufacture its range of innovative offshore solutions.
The successful event was attended by approximately 150 influential people including decision makers from the local area in Port Harcourt, members of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and executives from leading international oil companies invested in the region.
Event attendees were greeted by Mr. Morrison Fiddi, Chairman SDH, Mr. Akintunde Adelana, Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Mr. Simbi Wabote, a senior management staff of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) and Eirik Simonsen, Business Group Director from Trelleborg’s offshore operation based in Norway. The day also included real-time demos and presentations showcasing Trelleborg’s range of offshore solutions including thermal insulation, passive fire protection, and pipeline security, to name a few.
Oddvar Kopstad, Sales Manager with Trelleborg’s offshore operation in Norway states: “The day was far beyond expectation. We are in contact with attendees to set up additional meetings and we have already started planning a new event in 2018 together with NCDMB.”
