Achieving another milestone project in the engineering world, the Heavy Engineering business of Larsen & Toubro, has completed and flagged off Indiaโs Heaviest Hydrocracker Reactor ahead of schedule.
The reactor, weighing 1,858 Metric Tons (MT) is manufactured for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limitedโs Visakh Refinery Modernization Project. The Reactor will sail directly to Visakhapatnam from Larsen & Toubroโs fully integrated state-of-the-art coastal manufacturing facility located at Hazira in Gujarat.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. S. Raja, Executive Director โ Visakh Refinery Modernization Project, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, said, โWe are proud to have been associated with L&T and would like to congratulate you for establishing a benchmark in manufacturing INDIAโs Heaviest Hydrocracker Reactor, weighing 1,858 MT. We are happy to put on record that L&T has successfully achieved early delivery for the FCHCU Reactors meeting the quality and safety requirement, with First time right and ZERO defect, being a marvelous achievement.โ

We are presently manufacturing several Hydrocracker Reactors weighing more than 2,000 Metric Tons for HPCL Visakh Refineryโs Residue Up-gradation Facility (RUF) Project.
