Under the slogan of The Innovation Hub for Empowering New Energy Solutions, the new The smarter E Europe umbrella brand will bring together several exhibitions for renewable and smart energy solutions – including the leading Intersolar Europe and ees Europe exhibitions held in Munich.
From 2018, The smarter E will act as a strong link for a diverse range of events, covering renewable energy production, distribution, storage and the intelligent use of energy. The new umbrella brand will also introduce the Power2Drive and EM-Power exhibitions, taking place for the very first time in Munich in 2018.
Intersolar has been driving the building and expansion of the solar industry forward around the world for over 25 years, and has grown along the way into the world’s leading exhibition series for the solar industry and its partners. Holding events on four continents, it brings together people and companies from all corners of the world. Intersolar Europe in Munich, the largest event in this series, is now the world’s leading exhibition in this field. Intersolar has also contributed to the major international breakthrough in solar energy over the last 25 years.
According to the latest Global Solar Demand Monitor, the experts at GTM Research expect the demand for PV to reach 85.4 gigawatts this year, which would mean that the global PV market has doubled since 2014. With the rise of renewables comes a transition in the structure of energy supply. In order for the fluctuating amounts of electricity generated from renewable sources of energy such as solar and wind power to be used efficiently, generation, distribution, storage and use must be digitally controlled and networked – using a smart energy management system.
The smarter E – for a new energy future
The event organizers made a first and successful step in this direction by devoting ees Europe specifically to the topic of energy storage. ees Europe has been taking place in parallel to Intersolar Europe since 2014. Even in this short period, ees Europe has become the continent’s largest and most-visited exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems.
To position renewable energies as an alternative to the conventional power supply, the organizers, Solar Promotion GmbH, Pforzheim and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM) are bringing all the energy events together under a new umbrella brand: The smarter E Europe.
The new EM-Power and Power2Drive exhibitions
New events, including the Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power exhibitions, are set to enhance the existing event portfolio. Power2Drive Europe will put the spotlight on traction batteries and charging infrastructure for e-mobility. Networking electric vehicles with a sustainable, renewable energy supply will also play a central role at the exhibition. EM-Power will also take place for the first time in Munich at the same time in 2018, co-organized by the Messe München GmbH. EM-Power is the exhibition for intelligent energy use in industry and buildings. The event centers on professional energy clients and their need for efficient energy technologies, smart control systems and energy conservation. In the future, the organizers are looking to bring other events, workshops and forums concerning a smart, sustainable energy supply together under this one roof: The smarter E.
The smarter E Europe and its single events are set to take place at the same time from June 20–22, 2018 at Messe München.
